Acceptable Use Policy

1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules governing use of Medtribe's platform, website, and related services (the "Services").
This policy applies to all users, including:
- Individual users and account holders
- Event organisers and administrators
- Healthcare institutions and organisations
- All paid and free accounts
- Users in any geographic region
By using Medtribe, you agree to comply with this AUP, along with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.
2. General Principles
Medtribe is a professional platform supporting healthcare education and collaboration.
All users are expected to act responsibly, respectfully, and lawfully when using the Services.
You must not use Medtribe in any way that:
- Violates any applicable law or regulation;
- Harms, defrauds, or exploits another person or organisation;
- Interferes with the security, integrity, or availability of the Services;
- Circumvents billing, access controls, or subscription limits;
- Undermines the trust, safety, or reputation of the Medtribe community.
Examples of activities that violate this policy include:
- Uploading patient records or confidential clinical data
- Harassing, discriminating against, or intimidating other users
- Spamming users or misusing contact information
- Attempting unauthorised access to accounts or systems
- Sharing pirated or copyrighted educational materials
- Falsely claiming professional credentials
3. Prohibited Activities
3.1 Unlawful or Harmful Use
You must not upload, share, or transmit material that is:
- Unlawful or fraudulent;
- Defamatory, false, or misleading;
- Sexually explicit or pornographic;
- Graphically violent, threatening, or intimidating.
Examples include:
- Threats of harm or violence
- Hate speech or harassment
- Fraudulent schemes or scams
- Content promoting dangerous medical practices or unproven treatments
- Explicit sexual or violent imagery
- Promotion of illegal drug use or diversion
3.2 Data and Privacy Violations
You must not:
- Upload, collect, or disclose personal data without lawful basis or consent;
- Upload patient-identifiable, clinical, or confidential healthcare data, including but not limited to:
- Patient names, NHS numbers, or medical record identifiers
- Clinical notes, diagnoses, or treatment records
- Medical images with identifiers
- Prescription or medication data
- Violate data protection laws (e.g., UK GDPR, EU GDPR, HIPAA, or equivalents);
- Misuse personal data obtained through Medtribe, including for marketing or recruitment outside permitted use.
3.3 Security and System Abuse
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, network, or system;
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities;
- Circumvent authentication or security mechanisms;
- Tamper with or attempt to bypass subscription limits or billing terms;
- Deliberately overload or disrupt Services (including denial-of-service or excessive automated requests);
- Use bots, scrapers, or automation tools without written consent;
- Upload or distribute malware, ransomware, or other malicious code.
3.4 Misrepresentation
You must not:
- Impersonate another person or organisation;
- Misrepresent your affiliation with any entity;
- Falsely claim professional credentials, qualifications, or registration;
- Use titles or credentials you are not entitled to (e.g., "Dr", "Professor");
- Provide false information during registration or verification.
3.5 Misuse of Platform Features
You must not:
- Use Medtribe to send unsolicited or bulk communications, including:
- Mass emails unrelated to legitimate events or education
- Repeated unwanted messages
- Commercial promotions or advertisements (not permitted unless approved in writing by Medtribe)
- Messages promoting services unrelated to healthcare education
- Host or distribute plagiarised or misleading material;
- Exploit platform bugs or errors.
Event organisers may send legitimate event-related communications (e.g., reminders, updates, certificates) to registered participants where lawful.
3.6 Organisational Responsibilities
Organisations using Medtribe must:
- Ensure all invited users comply with this AUP;
- Manage access permissions responsibly and deactivate former users promptly;
- Upload only appropriate and lawful content;
- Act as Data Controller for participant data (as described in the Privacy Policy);
- Maintain a lawful basis for processing participant information;
- Respond to participant data requests in accordance with applicable law.
3.7 Intellectual Property Violations
You must not:
- Upload or share content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other IP rights;
- Share licensed materials without permission;
- Plagiarise or falsely claim authorship;
- Distribute pirated textbooks, journals, or course materials;
- Use Medtribe branding, logos, or trademarks without written consent.
Report suspected infringement to support@medtribe.com with "IP Infringement" in the subject line.
3.8 Professional Standards
As a platform serving healthcare professionals, users must:
- Maintain standards consistent with their professional regulatory obligations;
- Respect patient confidentiality and privacy at all times;
- Disclose conflicts of interest when relevant;
- Provide educational content that meets professional and ethical standards;
- Not use Medtribe to practice medicine or provide patient advice;
- Not fabricate, falsify, or misrepresent research or clinical data;
- Not plagiarise or engage in research misconduct.
Healthcare professionals remain accountable to their regulatory bodies when using Medtribe.
Serious professional misconduct may be reported to appropriate authorities where required.
3.9 Sanctions and Restricted Parties
You must not use Medtribe if you are:
- Located in, or acting on behalf of, a country or entity subject to UK, EU, or US sanctions;
- Listed on any government sanctions or restricted parties list.
Medtribe reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts to ensure compliance with trade or export control laws.
4. Enforcement
Medtribe may monitor user activity and content to maintain security, integrity, and compliance.
We reserve the right to take any action we consider appropriate, including:
- Issuing warnings or removal requests;
- Restricting or deleting content;
- Suspending or terminating accounts, temporarily or permanently;
- Reporting violations to organisations, authorities, or regulators.
We may act without prior notice where:
- Immediate action is required for security or legal reasons;
- The violation is severe or repeated; or
- Notification would compromise investigation or enforcement.
All enforcement decisions are at Medtribe's sole discretion.
5. Reporting Violations
If you believe this policy has been violated, contact support@medtribe.com with "Policy Violation Report" in the subject line.
Include:
- The user or organisation involved;
- Description of the issue;
- Screenshots or evidence (if available).
Medtribe reviews reports as appropriate and takes action at its discretion.
Anonymous reports may be accepted, though limited detail may affect our ability to investigate.
6. Relationship to Other Policies
This AUP is part of Medtribe's legal framework and should be read with the:
If inconsistencies arise, the Terms of Service prevail.
7. Updates
Medtribe may amend this AUP periodically to reflect operational or legal changes.
Material updates will be posted on the platform or notified to users.
